ENJOYING WELL-BEING THROUGH WELL-DOING
TRUST GOD’S TIMING

Dear conqueror in Christ:
What an awesome joy to join you today with a reminder to trust God’s timing. We’re often frustrated when our expectations are not quickly met. In fact we are living in an era when businesses aim to earn our trust on the indicators of quickness and fastness. On this score, we can understand Martha’s frustration when Jesus did not respond quickly to her appeal to come to help her sick brother Lazarus. She desperately said “Lord… “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” (John 11:21). What we need to understand is that God’s timing is perfect. He is never early, never late, never in a hurry, he is always on time. Let’s consider how Jesus’ action made this point a reality.

Although Lazarus was dead and gone, God’s purpose is still triumphant. What we often miss is that God does not handle time the way we do. We need to keep our faith in him. Jesus puts to rest Martha’s fears with words of hope, saying: “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” (John 11:40). “When everything seems all lost, God was still on time. After four days in the tomb, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out..” (John 11:39, 43-44). Remember that for the Lord, “a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” (2 Peter 3:8). Hold on and keep the faith.
