GIVING THANKS FOR OUR MOTHERS’ FAITH
Dear conqueror in Christ:
Praise the Lord for Mother’s Day 2024 with the awesome privilege of appreciating the faith of our mothers. I am a witness that we all are what we are today because of the unwavering faith of a loving mother. Through all life circumstances, mothers hold to their faith for the good of their children. We are here encouraged by the powerful story of a Canaanite woman whose daughter was afflicted by demon possession. Her love for her daughter compelled her to find a way for her deliverance. Let’s look at her winning strategy,
The first lesson from her story lies in the fact that this mother had enough faith to seek Jesus, crying out: “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.” (Mat 15:22). She persisted in her faith when Jesus told her “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” In humility, she replied “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” (Mat 15:26-27). Her persistence propelled her to victory. For Jesus rewarded her faith, saying: “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that very moment.“ (Mat 15:28). Let’s rise and walk in the victorious faith of our mothers.
